About

The Conveyor is a supply chain publication covering how top operators are rebuilding their supply chain.

Every article is grounded in real operator experience: the decisions they've made, the trade-offs they weighed, and the lessons they learned the hard way - broken down so you can learn from it and apply it to improve your own work.

Why this exists

Hi, I'm Gowtham.

For seven years, I ran a PCB manufacturing company in Toronto. When COVID hit and supply chains collapsed, I found myself constantly searching for answers.

Should I stockpile components? Switch suppliers? Renegotiate contracts?

The news told me what was happening - port delays, chip shortages, shipping rates exploding. But it rarely told me what to do about it.

You know what actually helped?

Conversations with other manufacturers facing the same problems. They'd share what they tried, what worked, what flopped. Those informal chats - operator to operator - were more valuable than any industry report I could find.

That experience taught me something: the best supply chain advice isn't in the news, white papers or consultant decks. It's in the heads of operators who've already done the work.

There's just one problem: That knowledge is scattered, hard to access, not written down anywhere.

The Conveyor is my attempt to get it out.

What to expect

  • A weekday newsletter - A short morning read with curated news, context, and a point of view on what actually matters. Built for professionals who quickly want to stay informed on what matters in supply chain.

  • Tactical insights - Deeply researched, interview-driven articles on how supply chain leaders have actually solved hard problems. I go deep with the people who've done the work - how they scoped it, what trade-offs they made, what they'd do differently. The kind of tactical detail you'd get from a great conversation with someone two years ahead of you.

  • Curated dinners - 20-30 supply chain leaders in a room. No panels. No pitches. Just practitioners sharing what's working and what's not.

What you won’t find here

  • Vendor-sponsored content

  • Recycled press releases

  • Thought leadership from people who've never managed a PO

I interview practitioners, chase specifics, and publish what I find.
