Running a supply chain means making expensive decisions before you have all the facts. Do you switch 3PLs or ride out the contract? Most of what gets written about supply chains doesn't help with any of that. It tells you what happened, then leaves you to work out what it means for your own operation.

The Conveyor is a new supply chain publication for the people making those calls. We cover the news every day, but the real work is what comes after the headline: what the best teams actually changed, why they did it, and whether it worked.

We believe the most useful supply chain knowledge isn't in a report or a framework. It lives in the heads of the operators who've already solved the problem you're facing, but none of it ever gets written down. Everything we make, from the daily newsletter to the interviews and the research, is built to help you learn from what they did.

FROM THE FOUNDER

Hi - I'm Gowtham, and I started The Conveyor.

Then COVID hit, and everything broke at once. Components I'd ordered for years suddenly had no delivery date. Prices doubled overnight. Freight went through the roof. And I was left staring at questions I had no good answer to: Should I stockpile? Switch suppliers? Renegotiate every contract I had?

I went looking for help. The news was everywhere - port delays, chip shortages, rates exploding - but it only ever told me what was happening. Never what to do about it.

You know what actually helped? Other operators. People in the same trenches, fighting the same fires. They'd tell me what they tried, what worked, and what blew up in their faces. A ten-minute call with someone who'd already solved my problem was worth more than every report and headline combined.

Here's the thing I took away:

The Conveyor is my attempt to fix that: to take the kind of conversations that got me through and put them somewhere every operator can learn from them. And to build a place where people like us get a little better at the job.
