New York startup Evos has raised $9 million in pre-seed funding and emerged from stealth. Uncork Capital and Field Ventures co-led the round, with Crosslink Capital, Utopia Capital Management, Sandwith Ventures and angel investors taking part.
Evos sells AI “operators” that learn how a company’s experienced staff perform a job, then carry it out inside existing software such as SAP, Salesforce, Slack and transportation management systems. Customers set the approval requirements and escalation rules. Its logistics applications cover carrier sourcing, dispatch, driver compliance, freight invoice audits, customs classification and shipment-status queries.
Evos says an operator auditing LTL carrier invoices for a freight brokerage made nearly 3,500 audit decisions in its first two months, with 97% accuracy. It closed out more than $600,000 in invoice value in five weeks, the company says.
Mike Chalfant, president of freight broker MyFreightWorld, said Evos helped overhaul its billing process “with zero upfront investment.” Evos says it passed $1 million in annual recurring revenue four weeks after going live.
The startup targets small and midsize businesses. Its competitors include established freight operators developing their own AI agents and startups such as Barcelona-based Opereit, which raised $2.5 million in June for AI tools that audit freight bills and file carrier claims.
Evos plans to formally launch its platform, Workhorse, in the coming weeks.
